Maria Rivas-Wolf, MFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in reproductive and maternal mental health.  She has been practicing for the past 16 years with a focus on mindfulness-based techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy.  She provides individual, couples, family and group therapy for patients undergoing fertility treatments or struggling with emotional difficulties following pregnancy/postpartum.  She also provides psychological assessments and consultation for donors and individuals pursuing third party reproduction.  She provides in-office appointments in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as telehealth appointments for patients located in California & Oregon.

Maria received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University .  She has worked with women with perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders providing individual, couples and group therapy at El Camino Hospital's Maternal Outreach and Mood Services day treatment program.  Maria also worked at Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine as an Reproductive Mental Health Specialist where she provided support services for women and couples struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss.  She has been providing specialized services for individuals and couples using third party assistance (e.g. egg donor, sperm donor, gestational carrier) to build their families, including psychological consultations for intended parents and psychological assessments for donors.

Maria serves on the executive committee for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine-Mental Health Professionals Group. She is also a member of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, Postpartum Support International as well as several Bay Area maternal wellness groups.
